Synergy Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ:SGYPD) is a public, development-stage biopharmaceutical company that develops drugs to treat gastrointestinal (GI) conditions and diseases.
Our patented drug candidates, currently in clinical development, were discovered and developed in-house by Synergy scientists.
The company has its headquarters in New York City and also operates a research laboratory in Doylestown, PA that supports Synergy’s drug development programs.
Synergy’s drug development program and patent estate are based on a class of synthetic peptides designed to mimic uroguanylin, a human hormone that regulates intestinal fluid transport.
Synergy has a lead drug, Plecanatide, in clinical development to treat chronic constipation (CC) and constipation-predominant irritable bowel syndrome (IBS-C). A second drug, SP-333, is in pre-clinical development for GI diseases.
